Babies, Children and Young People
All visitors under 18 must be accompanied to Beacons 2014 by a responsible parent/guardian over the age of 25. A maximum ratio of 1 adult to 4 under 18’s is allowed.
Children aged 5 and under can come to Beacons 2014 for free with a parent/guardian who has bought a ticket. Whilst children aged 6 -12 require a children’s weekend ticket.
Beacons 2014 has a lush Family Camping area for our younger visitors and their parents/guardians. We are planning to have special Attractions dedicated for our smaller friends – keep checking the Beacons Attractions page for more details.
All of the bars at Beacons 2014 operate a strict Challenge 25 policy.
At Beacons HQ we try to make our tickets as affordable as possible and we continue to remain one of the best value for money weekends around. The good news for 2014 is that we’ve found a new ticketing partner with an even cheaper booking fee, bringing down the price for you and saving much needed pennies.
Bringing Alcohol: What’s Allowed?
If you are camping, you are allowed to bring your own alcohol into the campsites but you will not be allowed to take your own alcohol from the campsites into the arenas. Each person will be allowed to bring two of the following or a sensible equivalent amount: a 24 pack of beer, a 75cl bottle of spirit, 2 x 750ml bottles of wine
When you arrive at the festival you will need to bring your alcohol in to the site on your first trip because once you have gained access, there will be no re-admission with this.
If you’d like to return to your car, this is fine but you will not be able to return into the festival with any more alcohol.
If you leave site, you will need to collect a pass-out wristband from the security at the main gate. On return to the event you will not be allowed to return with alcohol from outside of the festival.

We are also introducing more seating in the arena, 24 hours of entertainment in the campsite and a range of superior food vendors. Travelling by Car
The festival site is within an hour’s drive of Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Harrogate and Burnley; with good A roads linking the majority of the way to the beautiful Skipton scenery. The site is really easy to get to coming off the A59 – there will be yellow signage as you near the site so keep your eyes pealed.
When travelling to the festival by car, please use the postcode BD23 3AB to get to Heslaker Lane. When on Heslaker Lane please follow festival signage otherwise your satnav may take you to the wrong entrance. All car parks arelocated at Green Gate for the public.
If four wheels and an engine is your preferable mode and you have extra spaces to fill with more lovely festival-goers then put your details up on our pages:
Free Wheelers – www.freewheelers.com
Lift Share – www.liftshare.com
Beacons Festival is working with goCarShare to help people share car journeys.
It’s a great way to save money if you are driving, or to head to the festival on the cheap if you need a lift.
It’ll help you cut carbon, and as it is built around Facebook, you can find people who like the same music, or who have friends in common.
The charge for parking is £10 per car whether you are visiting the festival for the day or the weekend. You can use the same ticket if you leave the festival and return the next day, however there are no re-admissions on the same day the parking ticket was purchased. You are of course free to leave the car park at any time, but re-entry on the same day is chargeable at the same rate of £10.
If you would like to travel to the festival by bus then please visit www.northyorkstravel.info/place/skipton/ for timetables and routes.
We’d highly recommend catching the train to this years festival – not only is it cheap and better for the environment, but you also get to take in the lovely scenery on the way!
If you’re from or can get to Leeds or Bradford then simply hop on the regular service along the Airedale Line or the Settle-Carlisle line to get to Skipton. There are also good links from further afield – just checkout nearby railway links.
Skipton Station is just a short taxi ride to the festival and as Skipton has the cheapest taxi fares in the country, it’ll only cost a few golden nuggets to get you dropped off at the festival site!
Our preferred Taxi provider for the festival is Skipton Taxis (01756 701122), they’re safe, friendly and know exactly where to take you. These can be pre-booked or called on demand!
Of course there are more alternative ways of getting to the site… Skipton has the Leeds Liverpool canal going through it so if you’re on a canal boat and you set off in plenty of time, you’ll have a very leisurely arrival to Beacons Fest! Then there’s cycling, walking, paragliding (it has been done in the past, believe it or not!) and probably a few more options… Whichever one you pick, take care of yourself and each other, watch out on the roads, share where you can and we’ll look forward to seeing you there!
All of the water points on the Beacons 2014 site are drinking water.
At Beacons we recruit volunteer stewards for a wide array of duties, from helping set-up, through to assisting during the event and then cleanup teams to help return the site to it’s natural beauty.
We are looking for hard-working, motivated individuals to work 2 x 8 hour shifts in exchange for a weekend ticket, early festival access and hot meals when on shift. All we ask for is a small deposit to ensure you turn up for work, then upon completion we will send it back to your bank account.
For more information and to receive an application then please email firstname.lastname@example.org
