What else can you do? Well, how about some simple exercises? Tried it and failed?! The reason for that is children do not know what is good for them. They are little bundles of joy and want to have fun. So, you need to make it fun for them. Schools are already helping by installing playgrounds. Companies like School Play have high grade playground equipment for schools! So, what can you do to ensure that your child exercises well?
Ideas to make Exercising Fun for Kids
Child obesity rates are at an all-time high! It is alarming and parents around the world are concerned. You cannot stop your kids completely from eating junk food, or it can start a riot at home. If you try to get them to exercise, chances are tantrums will hit you like a tsunami! So, if you cannot beat them, why not join them? Make the exercise a fun activity for them (and you!). How? Do not worry; we are here to help you. Here are some innovative and fun ways to get your kids exercising:
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!” We have all heard about this idiom. It is applicable to all kids, boys and girls. So, you want them to spend less time on devices like iPads and more time outdoors. Schools have already installed kids outdoor play equipment. Your kids get to play with friends and have a lot of fun (while they exercise). You could also install some basic playground equipment in your backyard. So, for the kids (back from school or over the weekend) fun really never stops. If you have the right equipment installed, then no need for extra exercising session, they will get it all from the playing around the playground equipment.
2. Team Spirit:
When your kids play in a team, they build team spirit and good health. They get all the exercise from the sports activity, in this case as well. Motivate them to indulge in team sports like football, basketball and similar activities. If they have a friend involved in such an activity, then it will provide extra motivation. You could send them together for the practice. Just make sure they feel connected to the chosen sport activity. If they do not find interest, it could be of no use.
3. Play Dates:
Often, your kid is stuck to an iPad, because their friends are doing the same. Talk to the parents of your child’s friends and set up play dates. When your kids see that their friends are going over to the local playground to play, they will do the same. Everyone wants to have fun! If you have installed some playground equipment at home, why not call over your child’s friends? Setup a date at your home! You could even plan a surprise! Just imagine the squeals of joy, when your kids see their friends have come over. Just make sure to lock down all gadgets and devices. The date is to play outdoors, not indoors on devices and smart gadgets!
Phew, bringing up a child is tough! But, do not worry. These initial years will help them to grow up as strong individuals. Sports and playtime is crucial for both. Exercise is important for development. With the right amount of exercising, they will grow up strong and healthy!
